Farewell to 2012

Looks like 1,000 kilometers of running with all the training being on top of that. Last year was less so that's good. Let's see what 2013 brings and at this point I take nothing for granted. Only 27 days until the Robbie Burns 8K in Burlington. My running down here has me prepped for that, as long as I can keep it up! Time to hit the champagne on the beach and watch the fireworks.

Dead Guy Ale

Hope it is good.

6.5K in Cooler Conditions

This one was easy and I probably should have kept on going but I didn't want to do a double back into the wind. After last night's full moon I must have had more energy. About 44 minutes with a good average HR of 139. I stopped for some photos at the band shell.

Family afternoon

The jellyfish sting for one of the kinder wasn't too bad and so we did take out from Flicker Lite and admired the Intracoastal while waiting for our order. Then the wait for and arrival of the fabled ice cream truck!

Again Much Too Hot and Muggy

I left it too late but forced myself to get in 5K with some walk breaks in 35:30. Will be easier tomorrow when cooler!

Silver Lining Playbook

Well someone had to be first.

I Win!

So can I wear these in public?

5K in Wind

My new compression shorts with the light grey corduroy looking top were comfy but made it look like I'd had an accident given where the sweat shows. I'm not allowed to post any photos though. 34:29 so slow but done.

Considering a Run

But I'm a bit listless after having coffee with dessert last night at Osteria del Teatro in South Beach. We were very late getting there due to slow traffic and an accident and so the meal was very rushed, but still delicious. I had the mushroom salad, fillet mignon and my share of chocolate cake, apple caramel pie and almond cookies. And then I got some Nat Nast (t shirt, sweater and bathing suit) and other stuff on Lincoln Road at The Pacific Paradise Clothing Company. Can't complain!

Latest Gadget to Consider

Friends are saying I should get it and I did see it at the mall last night. We shall see.

8K After a Day Off

It was much cooler this morning and I went early so no problem getting in a five miler in 54ish minutes. Now out come the cables.

I've Left it Too Late

We had a mishap with the coffee which started the morning off on the wrong foot, plus we were up late due to les Miserables--and now it is already hot and windy, so perhaps today is a day off. Maybe just a walk then.

Fortune Cookie

OK I'll take the compliment.

Chinese Food!

Here it is. Les Miserables is next.

Premium Single Malt and Soy Egg Nog?

Decisions, decisions.

Vacation Multi-Tasking

Chest flies and lat raises while doing laundry.

What a Difference a Couple of Hours Makes

It's a hot one already.

Well Since I Was Up...

7.5K in 50 minutes with an average HOUR of 138. Much easier without heat and wind.

Got It!

Wish I'd done a video.

SNEWS® -- Spri Door Attachment

SNEWS® -- Spri Door Attachment is helping me with the non-running part of my regimen here:

http://www.spri.com/charts/516.pdf

The instruction manual with diagrams has a bunch of exercises and when I'm back home I bet Adam can give me some more.

Hottttt

We need buns for tonight's Christmas Eve BBQ so I went early to Whole Foods and then to The Sports Authority for some Under Armor sports underwear for me, Thorlo socks on sale for me and their new Esperia line for the girls. I also got some different weight cables for my pull exercises as well as a door attachment. At that point it was hot but I ran a very slow 5K in 35 minutes and now am having half a croissant and some coffee outside. The Esperia socks I got for me were lightweight but still cushioned, so a good pick up.

They Didn't Have Peppermint Candy!

And I think they overcharged me. But it was still the best. I made do with double chocolate chip (the best) and mint chip (too much after a few spoonfuls).

Dolphins and Bills

It was a fun outing and now it's BBQ time with a Publix stocked French pinot noir.

And we Have a Streak

6.5K in cool sunshine, without wind, in 43:33. Now time to do my cable work outside with all the pillars. Life is good.

Sun Up

Sent from my iPadDo we run? It is cold.

Dave and Buster's

We had as much fun at the party as did the birthday boy (ignoring feeling car sick while doing the car racing game). It's an annual event! We finished off at The Sports Authority where I got some cheap winter gloves and a hat, lifting gloves and wrist bands and a cable to do some fitness work down here. Now if only I could eat better...

Cold, Sunny and Flat

I was sore after yesterday so decided to keep it to 5K followed by a hot breakfast. 33 minutes and a reward-could get used to this. Scrambled eggs with bratwurst and veggies. The warm milk for coffee was a nice touch. And then 1.5K more running back in another 10:23.

In Florida it is I Who Washes the Dishes

That works out to closets 5% of the year. Feel a lot better after a good longish run and a healthy breakfast. [Note: This somehow didn't upload until now and I don't know how to change the time on it to put it in sequence.]

Delicious Miami Dinner at iL Gabbiano

We went to the Brickell area of Miami across from (and south of) Miami Beach for one delicious Italian food among the beautiful people. The place was iL Gabbiano and it was spectacular. I started with portobello with arugula and mozzarella and then had veal scaloppini followed by chocolate soufflé and cheesecake. All to die for. The rack of lamb was outstanding and Mrs. MM's appetizer of mushroom caps with escargots was as well. The cappuccino was stunningly presented.

Cold but Beautiful

And note to self: never run without Body Glide again. Ouch!
