13K
It was a tough one and I took a few walk breaks. It wasn't that it was that hot, but it was starting to get muggy, and I just havent run enough recently to have the endurance. Not sure about the half marathon in six weeks.

Time Off
The highly stressful school drop off in Chicago has been completed, as has a work closing that occured concurrently, I now llook forward to a long weekend. I have not run in 12 days so was happy to get one in this morning following a one hour long training session yesterday.

A Midsummer Night's Run
It was threatening to rain all day and as we drove to the race site parking lot, it actually was pouring. I really wish we hadn't registered, as it was too expensive to blow off. I was particularly worried that for the 90 minutes in the open field before the race, we would get drenched, and start the race already soaked. While it did drizzle a bit, that did not happen and actually it was comfortably cool for the race, unlike prior years.
I went out quite strong and did the first 5K in under 30 minutes and at the end of the second 5K, I was right on the one hour mark. Maybe it was the time of day, given that I normally run first thing, but I could not sustain that pace for the final 5K and took a few walk breaks finishing at 1:32 and change, which was faster than two years ago. I did not feel that I had another 6K in me to complete a half marathon, so clearly there is a lot more training to be done.

Montreal 5K
Went out too late and too hot. Hard to keep up with one of the girls while at the same time I had to keep stopping for Mrs. Marky Mark.
